I believe in the power of prayer, but something I read online made me think that some of us don't understand how it works.
I saw an article in a Christian magazine; “7 Prayer Tactics to Engage Heaven”
I though that was taking the whole spiritual warfare analogy just a bit too far!
Tactical prayer. How does that work?
I imagine a grizzled commander shouting orders!
“We need you to flank that petition and move in soldier!”
“There's too much enemy fire! Distractions on all sides, sir!”
“Soldier, pull yourself together, you load that weapon and fire until I tell you to stop!”
“Sir, I'm hit, I'm hit!”
“We won't leave you behind, son!”
I guess that's the reason that when you pray, you bow your head!
It's like trench warfare out there!
Praying, in my experience has been more about relationship, rather than war.
If God is my Father, we can just talk.
